Evelyn C. Sladek

Evelyn was born on July 28, 1927 in Thorndale, TX, to the late Elizabeth (Walbrick) Becker and Julius Becker.

On March 30, 1947, Evelyn married Lee Roy Sladek in Detmold, TX. Evelyn and Lee Roy owned a homebuilding business until Lee Roy’s retirement. Throughout the years, they established many lifelong friendships as avid square dancers. Evelyn loved to entertain and proved to always be a gracious and generous hostess.

Evelyn dedicated her life to loving and caring for her family. She was a devoted Christian and a member of the Lutheran faith.

Her husband of 58 years, Lee Roy and her son Stephen Roy preceded her in death in 2005 and 2007 respectively.

She is survived by her son, Michael Sladek and his wife Glenda (Missy), and their two sons, Aaron and Scott; and by her daughter, Jacqueline (Sladek) Howdeshell and her husband Gary, their two daughters, Stevie and Mariah and Stevie’s daughter Audra.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 14, 2013 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, TX. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 15, 2013 at 12:00pm at Sunset Funeral Chapel. Interment will take place at Sunset Memorial Park following the service.
