She was born on June 4, 1941 to Leon "Pete" and Pat May in Lacrosse, Wisconsin.
Evie relocated to Texas from Bloomington, Minnesota and worked with Northwest Airlines at the San Antonio Airport for over 12 years before retiring in 2005.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her beloved Chow Chow, Jokie. Evie is survived by her loving children, Peter Scanlan Dana; Patti Scanlan Scott; and Tom Wohlers Kim; grandchildren, Shaunalee, Christopher, and Patrick; great-granddaughter, Melanie May; sisters, Margaret Van Heel and Mary Nummerador; and of course her beloved "Smokey", as well as many other relatives and friends.
Evie will be flown back home to Iowa for services that will take place on Tuesday, May 26, 2009, visitation at 10:00 am, service at 11:00 am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in New Albin; interment following at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery with lunch afterwards at the church under the direction of Hanson-Thornburg Funeral Home, 490 Main St., Lansing, Iowa, 563 538-4141.
