Evelyn Margaret Woods left this earth on August 25, 2026 to be with God in Heaven. Evelyn was born on June 11, 1931 in Rochester, New Hampshire. Evelyn was preceded in death by her Father and Mother, Arthur and Hazel Jones and her loving husband of 62 years, Tom Woods. Evelyn is survived by her sons, Kent Woods (Mary) and Stuart Woods (Stacy). Evelyn joined the Army as a 2Lt Army Nurse in 1953. In Berlin, she served as an operating room nurse and met her future husband, Tom Woods, an Army Officer.
Evelyn lived in various places, including New York City, San Antonio, Kansas, Turkey, Pennsylvania, Korea and then back to San Antonio in 1972 where she has been since.
Evelyn continued her nursing career as she moved around. One of her most rewarding positions was working at the Saint Peter-St. Joseph Children’s home in San Antonio.
Evelyn’s faith in God was of utmost importance to her. She was a life-long Catholic and enjoyed worshiping God through her Catholic faith. She was a member of St Pius Catholic Church for over 50 years. After she moved to the Forum, she attended St Anthony Catholic Church. She also regularly attended the Alamo Heights Methodist Church Lunch Bunch.
Evelyn enjoyed travelling with her husband to many places in the US and throughout the world. She was very active at the Forum and participated in many activities and functions.
