

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at 10am at Beth-El Congregation in Fort Worth, TX and a graveside service will take place at 2pm at the Temple Beth-El Memorial Park on the Austin Hwy in San Antonio, TX, on Friday, March 28, 2014.
She was born in New Orleans, LA on May 5, 1918. She became a San Antonio, TX resident in 1938 and so remained for 68 years before moving to Fort Worth, TX in 2001. Mrs. Brooks was a member of Temple Beth-El in San Antonio and a member of Congregation Beth-El in Fort Worth.
Mrs. Brooks was very active in both religious and philanthropic organizations, former presidents of Temple Beth-El Sisterhood, Women's Auxiliary to Goodwill Industries and the Pan Hellenic organization, board member and active member of multiple San Antonio philanthropies.
Mrs. Brooks survived her daughter, Gaye Anne Brooks Felder, her son, Bernard M. Brooks, Jr. and her grandson, Jason Matthew Hiney. Her survivors include her granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Jude A. and Marc E. Sloter of Fort Worth, TX, their children, Mollie, Caroline and Stewart, her grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Bret M. and Kristine Brooks of Shakopee, MN and their children, Taylor, Kaylee, Blake and Blane, grandson Bernard M. Brooks, III, daughter-in-law, Sherry E. Brooks of Dallas, TX, and son-in-law, David W. Felder of San Antonio, TX.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Beth-El Congregation in Fort Worth, Temple Beth-El in San Antonio or Jewish Children's Regional Service in Metairie, LA.
