Fed Eugene Wheeler, Jr.

Fed Eugene Wheeler, Jr., age 72, passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, in San Antonio, Texas. Born on November 24, 1951, in Gastonia, North Carolina, to parents, Jacqueline Lucas Wheeler and Fed Wheeler, Sr. He honorably served for 20 years in the US Army until his retirement. Fed, or Coocoo as he was affectionately known to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, loved spending time with his family, watching sports (in particular football and basketball), and playing the lottery.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Tony Wheeler.

Fed is survived by his daughter Aubrey Weaver (Greg); son Matthew Wheeler (Jacquelyn); 4 grandchildren: David (Kymberlee), Ashley (Alex), Jacob, and Alanna; 5 great-grandchildren: Cheyanne, Nicholas, Cayson, Daniel, and Jaxson.

The family will receive friends from 9:15 - 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 19, 2024, at Porter Loring Mortuary

Rev. Dan Harrington will officiate. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans organization.
