Federico J. Calica Sr. born on February 16, 1918 in Laredo, Texas went to be with the Lord on August 26, 2012. He is preceded in death by his wife Rita M. Calica and son Federico J. Calica Jr. Mr. Calica is survived by his daughters Cristina C. Rich (John E.), Juanita C. Diaz (Edward); sons Francisco J. Calica (Debra), Tomas Riojas (Sue); 12 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. Mr. Calica was a veteran in the U.S. Army and served in WWII, Korean and Vietnam conflicts and is a recipient of the Purple Heart. He also retired from civil service as a warehouse supervisor at Kelly AFB. A visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Rd., with a Rosary to be recited that same evening at 7:00 p.m. A funeral procession will depart at 10:30 a.m. for an 11:00 a.m. Mass at San Juan de Los Lagos Catholic Church on Thursday, August 30, 2012. Interment will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital.
