Born on December 6, 1934, Charlie shared 66 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Nancy Baxley Rheams, who preceded him in death. Together, they built a life centered around family, friends, and an admired partnership.
Charlie proudly served his country in the United States Air Force as an Air Policeman from November 17, 1953 to October 1, 1957. His dedication to service reflected the strong values he carried throughout his life.
Charlie had a deep love for nature and animals. He found joy in golfing and fishing, and always enjoyed being outdoors. On weekends, you could often find him manning the barbecue pit, grilling up meals to share with family and friends alike.
Charlie is survived by his sons, Ken Rheams, and Steve Rheams (wife April), and by his cherished grandchildren: Alec, Ava, Riley, and Waylon. He leaves behind a legacy of warmth, generosity, and fun-loving spirit.
If there was a good time to be had, you could be sure Charlie was in the middle of it. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
A graveside service with United States Air Force Honors will take place on Friday, June 6, 2025, beginning at 9:00 a.m. at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road, San Antonio, Texas 78209. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Charlie's name to the Alzheimer's Association, https://www.alz.org/sanantonio.
