Our beloved husband and father Felix Salinas Jr., 86, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away after a lengthy illness on January 16, 2022. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Tito Salinas, sisters Rita Fernandez and Linda Flores, his grandson Dayton Kruse, and his beloved pet companion, Champ.
Felix was born on March 8, 1935, to Felix Salinas Sr. and Christina Pina in Pharr, Texas.
After high school he went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Air Force, retiring as a TSGT after 20 years. Following his military retirement, he went on to serve an additional 20 years in the civil service industry before permanently retiring to enjoy life with his family.
Felix is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Olivia Salinas; children, Rebecca Salinas Kruse and husband, Dennis, Rolanda Salinas Grant and husband, Donnie, Renaldo Salinas and wife, Rolin, Felix Salinas III and wife, Andrea, Steven Salinas, and wife, Holly, Lydia Skaggs and husband, Brett, Sandra Gonzalez and husband, Arthur, Moses Ramirez, Cynthia Ramirez, and Monica S. Najera and husband, Fernando; 21 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Visitation services for Felix will be held Tuesday, February 8, 2022, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Trevino Funeral Home with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at noon at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with full military honors.
