Born January 7, 1935 in Agana Guam, Felix went to be with the Lord on January 13, 2019 at the age of 84. He is and will always be our Loving and Devoted Dad, Husband, Grandfather and Friend. He lived his life not by words, but by his actions. He enjoyed living a hard earned yet simple and comfortable life. Never boasting about his life and accomplishment; his love and friendship was cherished by those that had the privilege of knowing him.
Having lived through the Japanese occupation of Guam during WWII, he joined the U.S. Army January 14, 1954. Serving honorably and retiring August 1, 1977, he earned and was awarded numerous awards and honors. He is an Army Ranger, having served two tours in Vietnam (1965 and 1968) in which he was awarded two Bronze Stars, the Combat Infantry Badge and the Aviation Crew Member (Observer) Wings. During his peace time Service, he earned the Ranger Tab (Class 11-12, 1958), he was awarded two Meritorious Service Medals and earned the Expert Infantry Badge. After his career in the Army, he worked and retired March 31,1997 from the North East Independent School District San Antonio Texas.
He will forever be missed and remembered by Sister: Rita U. Garcia; Sons: Felix Jr. and Michael Untalan; Daughters: Julie and husband David Valdez, and Terrie Untalan; Step-Daughters: Linda Wade, and Carman Zarazua; Grandchildren: Michael Untalan Jr., Jordan Valdez, Andrew Untalan, Lauren Untalan, Lauren Valdez, Trista Salas and Austin Wade; Great grandchildren: Antonio, Nathaniel, and Nikolas Chapa.
He now joins his Parents: Jose and Isabel C. Untalan; Wife: Rosalinda R. Untalan and Former Wife: Pauline M. Untalan; Sisters: Josefa, Maria, Dolores, and Ana Untalan; Brothers: Vicente, Tomas, Roque, and John Untalan; Granddaughter: Amanda M. Untalan-Chapa.
Graveside services with Army Military Honors will be conducted at 9:00am on January 28, 2019 at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery, shelter number one, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd., San Antonio, Texas.
