She was born May 6, 1933 in San Diego, Texas to the late Guadalupe and Rose Canales.
She served her country for over 38 years in the Civil Service at Security Command at Kelly AFB in San Antonio, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her grandchildren A. Michelle Herring and Destin E. Herring.
Florence is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years Earl F. Herring; children Frances L. Mayfield, Earl M. Herring and wife, Audra M. Castro and Cynthia A. Herring; grandchildren Dustin E. Mayfield, Amanda M. Mayfield, Joshua D. Mayfield, Earl M. Herring II and Diana M. Herring; great-grandchildren Kristian A. Mayfield and Tyler J. Mayfield; siblings Homero C. Canales, Wallace Canales, Luis E. Canales and Raquel Vidaurri.
