

He is survived by his wife, Joan; his children, Steven, Susan, and Heather, and their spouses; six grandchildren; his brothers, Charlie and Jack; his sisters, Elmaran and Betty; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth and Forrest M. Campbell, and his brother, Albert.
Following his graduation from Middlesex County Vocational and Technical High School in Woodbridge NJ, Forrest proudly served as an electrician in the U.S. Navy on the USS Chukawan and USS Will Rogers. He furthered his education at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) and went on to a 45-year career at Southwest Research Institute in San Antonio, where he served as a Principal Engineering Technologist.
A founding member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Forrest enjoyed spending his time tinkering with electronics, computers, and his car, as well as gardening and woodworking. He was also highly dedicated to Scouting America, spending many years volunteering his time with the organization. He was a very proud Aggie Dad.
Forrest will be remembered for his sense of humor, his technical acumen, and his enduring love for his family, especially his grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 27, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, located at 7893 Grissom Rd, San Antonio. Visitation begins at 9:30 a.m., followed by Mass at 10:30 a.m. and a reception from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A graveside service will follow at 1:45 p.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio.
