

Forrest is survived by his brother Leonard Weldon Howard and wife Barbara of Corpus Christi, Texas, a grandson Derik Hausman, a great grandson Robert Forrest Hausman, a great granddaughter Seville Hausman, all of San Jose, California, plus several nieces and nephews.
Forrest was preceded in death by his first wife Iris Rose Jackson, his second wife Rosemary K. Jungman, his daughter Bonnie Sue Howard, and his son John Leonard Howard.
Forrest graduated from Edison High School and enlisted in the Navy in July 1944. He saw action in the South Pacific as a gunner on the USAT Maui, an Army transport ship. He was discharged June 1946. After military service Forrest was employed by Southwestern Bell. He retired from Southwestern Bell in 1986, having completed forty years of service. After retiring Forrest moved from San Antonio to Lake Hills and later to a ranch area south of Boerne.
Forrest enriched his life with deer hunting and fishing plus his many friendships. He was known to be fiercely loyal to his family and friends. The St. Charles Guild has been a source of religious inspiration, encouragement, and friendship. MSGR Larry Stuebben has especially been a source of comfort and guidance to Forrest in the last few years.
Visitation will be 12:30 p.m., Saturday, January 7, 2012 with the Funeral Services at 1:30 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Father John Wagner officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Disabled Veterans National Foundation, or the charity of your choice.
