She was born in Mora, Minnesota; she grew-up in Billings, Montana. She was a teacher for over 25 years. She enjoyed playing bridge, barbeques with her family and playing with her great-grandchildren. Frances was an Elder in the Presbyterian Church where she taught Bible studies.
She was very well known for her elegance, smile and kindness, and was loved by all.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years, Charles R. Nelson; brothers, Roderick Wright and Edward Wright; sisters, Jane Fortney and Phyllis Hopwood.
She is survived by her son, Dr. Robert C. Nelson Fern; daughter, Linda Appelgren; sisters, Kathleen Klotz and Elizabeth Nelson; sisters-in-law, Bessie and Beth Wright; grandchildren, Raymond Judi Nelson, Charles Becky Nelson, Richard Appelgren Peter Kolonia, Tammy Robert Armstrong, Robert Lisa Nelson, Carrie Michael Diel, Martin Carrie Nelson, Brad Anita Taylor, Derek Cindy Taylor, and Bret Padgett; 24 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
