Frances Weiss Rodriguez

She was born on September 3, 1926 in San Antonio to Fred P. Weiss and Zulia Harding. She married Fred A. Rodriguez on Feb. 22, 1948, in San Antonio, and they were blessed with three sons.

Frances loved spending time with her family, whether around the dinner table, with her husband and growing children every evening, or at big family gatherings where she shared in good-natured teasing and lots of laughter with her in-laws, nieces and nephews. Frances lived in San Antonio for many years, developed lifelong church and neighborhood friends that she cherished.

Later moving to the Austin area to be close to family. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Austin and previously belonged to Concordia Lutheran Church in San Antonio, for more than 40 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred A. Rodriguez; her siblings Margaret Ferrie, Helen Dorn, Mary Holt and Fred Weiss.

Frances is survived by sons, Gary Rodriguez and wife Jill; Steven Rodriguez and wife Linda; Mark Rodriguez and wife Barbara; grandchildren, Ryan Rodriguez and wife Kati, and Eric Rodriguez.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 1, 2016 at 12:00 Noon with a Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. at Porter Loring Chapel on McCullough Ave. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
