Francis was a vibrant and free spirited person. I have fond memories of her at the Sargeant's Village Christian mission Sunday school. I remember one of our trips aboard Harper's Lorry to a sister Church in St. Lucy. We sat together and she introduced me to playing the tambourine. She played it and didn't care how it sounded, she played. Of course, no one paid her any mind because they thought she was a little crazy. Note however, that her efforts inspired me to try it; I had my first public experience of playing the tambourine. Thank you.

Sincere condolences to Aunt Mim, Pat, Roslyn, Franklyn and the entire family on the loss of Francis.  From the Pilgrim and Bryan families in Barbados.

Some of my favorite memories of my beloved cousin was when we went to Florida for the summers growing up to spend time with family, and as a treat for the summer.  With my beloved Aunt and uncle that inspired us in so many ways but  were very strict, and very disciplined to the point that at times we couldn’t go out in the Florida heat to play so we had to create our own fun inside. That’s where some of the most wonderful moments was created with my cousins and especially with the belly laughing with cousin Francis. Enjoying all the stories, and all of the different things that happened as a family was a delight for the summer. I truly will miss her calling me, Julie, truly miss her smile, and truly hearing her say…”Child leading into one of her funny stories…” I cherish Her one of a kind laugh…And to my family, much love and appreciation for you all and for our kinship.

Francis (nicknamed Francesca), my friend and sister in Christ, will be forever missed.  We met in the military while stationed in Tampa, FL and became friends from the start.  From day one, Francis took me under her wing and bossed me around, threw scriptures at me and then made me promise to do better, all while cooking and feeding me daily meals and providing a pillow to lay my head on whenever I needed it.  Fast forward, almost 30 years later, and nothing changed except for the meals but only because we lived too far apart for me to drop by and collect them.  I will miss our talks and the way she always took care of me.  It was always comforting to know that anytime we talked, it would be a conversation full of laughs, jokes, and wisdom.  And that whatever we talked about would always be just between she and I.  I could trust her with my deepest secrets and know it went no further.  If I was wrong, she wouldn’t hesitate to let me know and would quickly steer me back on track, and then asked to ensure I got it before the conversation ended.  But then that was her.  She was someone who looked out and prayed for everyone, wanting nothing more than for you to do right by GOD.  She was also someone who was always willing to lend a helping hand without hesitation.  If you needed her, she was there.  No questions asked.  I am so truly thankful for having had her as a part of my life.  A true friend, one of few who has earned that title.  Until we meet again, Francis, know that I love you.  There is no doubt you are in a better place.  So, keep looking down on me from heaven as I will continue looking up to you.

Francis and I becam friends on the campus at Florida Memorial University. We always loved sharing moments of our childhood homes of Barbados and The Bahamas. I am grateful for the friendship and for her help in getting me through Mrs. Allen’s math classes. I tried to get her to pledge Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. I was close but she wouldn’t give in. Our college years were fun.
Great work Fran and Thank You for your service. Now take your rest. To live is Christ, but to die is gain.
