

Frank Daleiden, age 81 of San Antonio, Texas, died peacefully on Thursday, November 24, 2011. Frank died in hospice care while his family gathered to give a prayer of thanksgiving, as was their annual tradition. Frank was a grocery executive specializing in transportation management until his retirement from HEB Grocery Company in 1996 as director of traffic. During his career he had been vice-president of transportation for Jewel Food Stores in Chicago, and for HEB's Parkway Transportation in San Antonio. Frank was a pioneer in the field of distance education, giving instruction in transportation and distribution management. He participated in several organizational boards involving regulation and labor negotiation in the freight industry.
Frank graduated from Marquette University High School and from Marquette University with honors, receiving a BS in mathematics. Frank loved to travel domestically and internationally with his wife of 59 years, Nancy. Frank was a family man who faithfully led his wife and six children to success and prosperity by his example. Frank is survived by his wife Nancy and his children John (Kim) Daleiden, Joan (Lyle) Anderson, Janeen (Doug) Ryan, Jerome (Gail) Daleiden, Joseph (Tracy) Daleiden, and Julianne (Peter) Landez. He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren and one great grandchild. Frank had many friends and co-workers who have remained close by during the years, even from Milwaukee and Chicago.
