Francisca Romelia Gomez

A loving wife, fierce momma bear, and great spoiler of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a wonderful friend to many. She greatly enjoyed playing Bingo and traveling to casinos with her husband and family. She worked as a dental assistant for the Lee Dental Centers for a few years. She then worked as a bus driver for San Antonio Independent School District which she loved. Fiercely independent, she and her loving husband often visited their favorite stomping grounds with friends for a cup of coffee. Always eager to help anyone in need. She will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her father, Benito R. Sauceda, her mother, Maria Eufemia Sauceda, and her brother, Sergio M. Sauceda. She is survived by her loving husband, Marcial V. Gomez; three children, H. Javier Gomez, Hector J. Gomez, and Julissa R. Gomez; grandchildren, Jessica R. Candler, H. Javier Gomez, Jr., Christopher S. Gomez, Brandon Gomez, Megan Portillo, Timothy Gomez, and Karimah R. Shrouro; great-grandchildren; Jayce L. Alva, Amelia L. Alva, Jayden Gomez, Ralina Gomez, Mikaela Portillo, Charlie Portillo, and Elijah Portillo; siblings, Ben Sauceda, Delia Reyes, John Sauceda, and Gloria Rodriguez; daughters-in-law, Diana Gomez, Tina Gomez, and Irene M. Sweitzer (former); son-in-law, Mark A. Aguilar.

Our family invites our extended family and friends for visitation on Friday, July 14, 2023, from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm, at Porter Loring Mortuary West.

She will be laid to rest at Mission Burial Park South, 1700 SE Military Dr., San Antonio, TX 78214, near her parents and brother at 12:00 PM on Saturday, July 15, 2023. If you would like to travel in procession to the cemetery, please be at Porter Loring Mortuary West (located near Sea World), by 10:30 AM on Saturday. Pallbearers will be Mark A. Aguilar, H. Javier Gomez Jr., Gabriel Alva, Brandon Gomez, Brandon Candler, and Christopher S. Gomez. Pastor Juan Segundo will be officiating the services.
