She was surrounded by her family at time of death. Mrs. Hernandez was born January 29, 1910 in Monterrey, N.L., Mexico and moved to Brownsville, Texas as a child during the Mexican Revolution.
She lived in Brownsville until 1996 when she moved to San Antonio to be closer to her family.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Napoleon Hernandez, Sr. and her son, Roberto Raul Hernandez.
Her husband was proprietor of First Street Grocery and Bakery in Brownsville for many years until he retired.
She is survived by her children, Irma H. Campesi, Napoleon Hernandez, Jr. and his wife, Olivia of San Antonio, Rachel H. Champion and her husband, A. T. Champion of Houston, and Mary Ann Longoria and her husband, Juan Longoria of Lake Jackson; a brother, Serapio Garcia Tovar of Matamoros, Mexico, fourteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
