Frank I. Brooner, Jr., age 75, of San Antonio, died Tuesday, February 24, 2004. Frank graduated with a degree in Geology from the University of Texas. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Frank begin his career as an Exploration Geologist in 1954 and continued on as an Independent Geologist from 1964 until his death. Survivors: beloved wife of 50 years, Doreen Brooner; daughters, Stephanie Brooner Smith, Stacey Brooner Hughes and husband, Jeff; son, Barry Alan Brooner; grandchildren, Lindsey Scott Smith, Samuel Thomas Smith, Jessica Caitlan Hughes and Campbell Cunningham Hughes. He was preceded in death by his son, Brian Keith Brooner. The family wants to give their heartfelt gratitude to Doctors Sharon Wilkes and Bruce Wood, as well as the hospital staff of Northeast Baptist Hospital, unit one north.
