Frank Riley Ellington, age 75 dedicated husband, loving father, decorated Vietnam Veteran, career U.S. Air Force, died peacefully in the same spot as his beloved wife Anita, in his last expression of complete devotion and everlasting love for her. Born April 7th, 1936 in San Antonio, Texas, Frank grew up on a family farm in a large household of siblings learning the value of hard work and family. Frank joined the Air Force as a teenager and after a tour in Korea he returned to the states when he met his wife Anita in San Antonio. After two tours and being wounded in Vietnam, he returned to Texas to marry Anita and finish his military career as an instructor at Lackland AFB. Frank then joined the criminal warrants division in the Bexar County Sheriff’s Department and supervised Corporate Security for Diamond Shamrock before entering into retirement. Frank was an avid deer hunter and fisherman, keeping the family tradition alive, and spent joyous years of his life ensuring those skills were passed on to his sons.

Frank was preceded in death by his beloved wife Anita, his parents Wiley and Elizabeth Ellington, brothers, Wylie, Willie, Russell Ellington, Walter and Joy Lindsey and his sister Mary Collins.

He is survived by his loving sons, William and Robert Ellington; daughters-in-law, Brenda Ellington and Mary Lou Garcia; grandchildren, Adrian, Alexandria, Arica, and Brooke Ellington; sisters, Bea Ralston and Nancy Shilling, and brother Robert Ellington.

To the Ellington Family. Our sincere sympathy. Our memories of your parents are happy ones. We lived next door to Frank and Anita in the old days. Frank had the most beautiful patio and always shared plant clippings with me. Tippy finished his last few years at our home. We know Frank and Anita left him with us because they didn't want to disrupt his daily walk up and down the street. We spent a lot of Saturday nights with Frank and Anita on their patio. We are sorry for your loss. We had the pleasure of knowing them. Joyce and Larry Beneke
