MSgt Emery was my ROTC Instructor my sophomore year of high school in 1981. He  made quite an impression on me and my classmates. He was clearly a huge influence on my decision to join the military after graduation.  I was impressed MSgt Emery as a young teenager. In retrospect, I  should have been more grateful for men like him willing to teach us kids after his retirement from active duty. I have and still do think of him often. I am saddened to learn of his passing last year. I am grateful for his influence on me and for his long and distinguished service to our nation. You will not be forgotten. May you rest in peace.
