Frank Gonzales, Jr., age 81, passed away on Thursday, October 08, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on August 26, 1945, in San Antonio, Texas, to parents, Trine and Frank Gonzales. Frank Gonzales married the love of his life, Anita (Annie), on February 9, 1980. Frank Gonzales served 30 years in the United States Army, 4 years Active Duty and 26 years in the U.S. Army Reserves. Frank Gonzales worked as a Chief Engineer at Kelly Air Force Base following his active-duty status. Frank served as a Special Needs Bus Driver for NEISD for 15 years. His favorite occupation, however, was being a grandfather to his 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Trine Gonzales, and father, Frank Gonzales. Frank is survived by his wife, Anita Gonzales; daughters, Lola Orme (Phil Orme), Ruby Ann Monsivais, Monique Noriega (Erik Noriega); son, Raphael Gonzales; grandchildren, Brandon Orme (Linda Castillo), Allie Harrington, Gabriella Rodriguez, Eriqa Bloore (Laird Bloore), Brooke Orme, Roman Gonzales, Rianna Gonzales; great-grandchildren Olivia Martinez and Audrey Martinez; and siblings, Yolanda Castillo (Ray), Mary Alice Gonzales, Olga Martinez, Sylvia DeLeon (Nabor), Gloria Martinez, and Gilbert Gonzales.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, October 29, 2026, at Porter Loring Mortuary, with a rosary to follow at, 7:00 p.m.
A procession will leave Porter Loring Mortuary on Friday, October 30, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., to a Funeral Mass at St. Monica, 501 North St., Converse, Texas, beginning at 11:00 a.m.
Father Thumma Prathap will officiate. Interment will follow in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Annie Gonzales.
