

On June 23, 2026, our dear friend Freddrick Champion Garcia aka Raynn Walker Jr., his pen name for his children’s story series about a Lady Toad (TOADINA) and her bold undertaking’s, quietly drifted out of his life and into his next adventure with the Lord and all Freddrick’s loved ones gone before.
Freddrick was born on September 22, 1935, in San Antonio, Texas, to his mother, Bertha M. Champion of Edinberg, Texas and father, Fred G. Garcia of San Antonio, Texas, Portland, Oregon, San Francisco, and McAllen, Texas, both deceased.
He is survived by his younger brother, John A. Garcia, survivor of 2 major battles in Vietnam who resides in McAllen, Texas, at Alfredo Gonzales Texas State Veterans Home; his niece, Selena Garcia and son, Ernest (Ernie) Garcia, all of Alton, Texas.
A graduate of William Adams in Alice, Texas, Texas A & I University in Kingsville, Texas and two years in Parsons School of Design in New York, NY. He was what we call an overall Artist because he worked in fashion design, interior design, sculpture, advertising, did some art painting, commercial illustration, worked with many high-end celebrities doing hair and make up for movies and television. Designed homes and businesses, a great cook and was the creative art director for Theme Travelers Inc. here in San Antonio for 23 years. He designed and drew actual color renderings in their own venues for wonderful, themed galas, conventions, weddings, bar, bat mitzvah as well as his favorite, High School proms.
He also wishes to include as his survivors the wonderful and loving family and friends of his beloved companion of 39 years who passed on 17 years ago, Phillip Morris Jr.; sister-in-law, Yolanda and her husband Russell Morreira and daughter Keala of Hawaii; Phillip’s brothers, Rodney Wayne, Robert, and Kanani.
A Graveside Service will take place on Monday, July 6, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery, located at 17501 Nacogdoches Rd, San Antonio, TX 78266.
To his many dear friends and loved ones, he hopes they will remember all the good times we had together and once in a while when thoughts of him pop into your minds, say to yourselves, “Be at peace my friend, Freddrick”.
