Fred Vincent Garcia Norris
May 26, 1958 – June 9, 2021
Fred Vincent (Vince) Garcia Norris was born May 26th, 1958 in San Antonio, Texas. He lived most of his life in Laredo, TX. He graduated from J. W. Nixon High School in 1976 as co-valedictorian, went on to Rice University where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts Degree on May of 1980, and then went on to obtain his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Texas School of Law in December of 1982. He obtained his State Bar of Texas License on May 13, 1983 and practiced law. He also was a licensed realtor and an ordained minister. Vince was preceded in death by his precious, loving wife, Laurie Anne Wyatt (Komarek), who passed away on December 24, 2017. Laurie was smart, tender-hearted, a Special Ed teacher, and very supportive of Vince throughout their marriage. Vince was also preceded in death by his parents, Dr. George V. Garcia and Norma O. Cantu Garcia. Vince’s first love was the Lord Jesus Christ, his savior. He made that fact known to everyone he ever met, unashamedly and with passion for the Holy Scriptures and all of the Lord’s amazing characteristics and wonderful miracles. Our brother and good friend, Vince was a giant of a man of God, in carrying out Jesus’ New Command, to spread the Great Commission. Within his particular ministry, Faith Healing, Vincent was relentless. By talking to, praying for and thinking about those in need, he revealed the depth of compassion that gave peace to whomsoever fell within his ministry. His reward is to be with his beloved Jesus, whom he served so faithfully. Vince was compassionate and gracious to anyone who ever asked for prayer, typically praying for them on the spot, and continuing to pray for them until their requests were answered by God. He loved to testify of many answered prayers and even miracles that the Lord allowed him to be a part of, including praying for his niece, Talitha Zuniga, who had been experiencing absence seizures as a child. She was completely healed to the doctors’ amazement! Vince was always sure to give all the glory and praise to the Lord and none to himself. He loved meeting and chatting with people anywhere he happened to meet them, a personality trait that he got from his late father. Vince loved simple things like sharing a meal, going to a family or friends’ BBQ or just being outdoors and thanking the Lord for his wonderful creation. The similarities between Vince and his father in this respect was fulfilled to the ultimate degree as they traveled together from coast to coast over their lifetimes. Anyone traveling along was sure to hear a frequent “Praise the Lord!” from one or both of them, as they enjoyed the scenery along the way and at their many destinations. He loved to take pictures of everything, including himself, everyone, food and his surroundings. Some of Vince’s travels included visits to many nationally known preachers and evangelists, several of whom he studied under. Fred had a zest for life and enjoyed water skiing, snow skiing, traveling, boating, playing the piano and guitar, and singing karaoke. He loved wading in the water with his golden retrievers, Elvis and Ginger. He also worked very closely with his father, assisting with handling many legal and business dealings in managing the family business, as well as buying and selling various other properties and interests. Vince is survived by his four siblings, his brother George V. Garcia II and his children Allison Garcia (late), Audrey Garcia Stanley (husband Jonathan), and Madolyn Garcia (daughter Nadia Falone), his sister Cynthia Lynn Garcia (Carmen Beltran), his sister Sandra Norma Garcia (Michael Muhlenbruch) and daughter Norma Ashley Cortez (husband Jesus and their children Landen Ethan and Amerie Normalynn), his sister Sally Ann Zuniga (husband Paul) and their children Jason Lee Zuniga (wife Stephanie and their children Xander and Benjamin), Cassandra Nicole Norton (husband James and their children Kristina Marie, Blake, Alex, Ashlee Kay and Samantha), Kevin Austin Zuniga (wife Lisa and their children Kayleigh, Paul Dezmond, and Marcus), Talitha Faith, and Alexander Bernard, along with numerous loving relatives and friends. Vince will be sorely missed by all he touched with his grace and mercy.
