

Freda Deeks Reidenbach, age 92, joined her beloved husband, David, in Heaven on February 16, 2017, in San Antonio, Texas. She was born in the English village of Clare, located in Suffolk County, England.
She met and married her Texan husband, David, during WWII in England and crossed the Atlantic to live in Texas with him after the end of the war. They enjoyed 36 beautiful years of marriage, until his untimely death in 1981. She crossed the Atlantic Ocean 49 times and enjoyed returning to England, which she always considered home. She became a United States citizen in the early 1950's while they were stationed in South Carolina with the Navy. She served in the English Land Army during WWII. She was a long time member of the Altar Guild at Holy Cross Episcopal Church and The Daughters of the King, and was active in both county and state levels of the Extension Homemakers, besides being heavily involved in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren's lives.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David G. Reidenbach in Texas; her parents in England, Ruby May Turner Deeks and Arthur William Deeks; her granddaughter in Texas, Leanne Rae Reidenbach; her English cousins, Arthur Smith, Doris Smith and Barbara Easto; and her lifelong English friend, Betty Woollard.
She is survived by her children, Michael David Reidenbach and his wife Judy, Dan Arthur Reidenbach and his wife Annie, Amanda Elizabeth (Mandy) Kaupert and her husband Forrest, and Patricia Ann (Patsy) Barnes and her husband Tony; Rhonda Reidenbach; Grandchildren, Michele Gilliam, Wyana Eddleman, David Scott Reidenbach, Dan Reidenbach, Brandon Kaupert, Shelby Kaupert, Jinny Beachy, Holly Anthony, Rhea Moore, Jr., Lauren Grotts, Eva Hisaw, Jamie Jones-Reidenbach, Justin Jones, Christopher Huseman, Jonathan Huseman, Dawn Kelly, Justin Mott, Laura Lancaster, Brian Adelman and Jennifer Adelman; nephews, Nolan Metz and Eddie Metz; 23 great-grandchildren; and English cousin, Pat Thompson; as well as other extended English cousins.
The family wishes to thank VITAS Hospice for the wonderful support they gave Freda and her family, Pastor Max Teague, as well as the Methodist Women of the Somerset United Methodist Church for providing a reception.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 23, 2017, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
