Gabriel was a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend who moved through the world with curiosity and quiet generosity. He was drawn to Austin’s forgotten places - decaying buildings and overlooked spaces where others saw nothing. He had a way of finding things worth saving and giving them new purpose, treating every outing as a small adventure with something to show for it.
Late at night, Gabe could often be found on a bench by Lady Bird Lake - sometimes sitting, looking out over the water, sometimes just sleeping there – as it gave him a sense of restfulness and peace.
He loved ramen and heavy metal music, but most importantly, the many friends he made throughout his life. He looked out for those around him without hesitation, often before he thought of himself.
He never spoke ill of his parents, Michael and Monica. His love for them was quiet and constant. He would call them regularly once a week without fail to reassure them that he was fine and discuss his latest adventures - many times, laughing at each other’s nonsense or remembering past hijinks that Gabe put them through when he was a child.
Gabe is survived by his loving parents, Monica and Michael, his sisters - Kristine Davis and Mikayla (Davis) Castilloux - along with his niece and nephew. Gabriel had many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will carry his memory in their hearts.
