Gayle was a former member on the Board of Directors of Sonterra Country Club and the Sonterra Men's Golf Association. He retired from Valero Energy Company as the Vice President of Corporate Financial Planning.
Gayle was a certified public accountant as well as serving as Vice President and CFO of Southland Drilling Company, Inc. and Love Oil Company.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Harold Black and his parents, Inez and Barney Black.
He is survived by his loving wife of four years, Della; daughter, Sheri Rae Ferris and her husband Eric; step-daughter, Nannette San Martin; granddaughter, Jordyana Rae Ordones; sister-in-law, Pansay Black; and nephew, Mike Black. Gayle will be deeply missed by his family, business associates and close friends on and off the golf course.
