It is with deep sadness and broken hearts to announce the passing of our beloved mother Geary Kay Estrello on April 20th at 1:16pm. In spite of her many prayers and her two daughters loving care Geary succumbed to multiple comorbidities. Geary was received into the arms of the Lord surrounded by her entire family.
Geary Kay was born on March 27th,1939 to Philip and Rachel Aguirri in Lawton, Oklahoma. Geary was raised in her hometown of Snyder, Oklahoma until her teen years when her family moved to San Antonio, Texas due to a military posting of her father. Geary graduated from Edgewood H.S. going on to stay and call San Antonio, Texas home.
In 1960 Geary met our father Gabriel Estrello and they were married on New Year’s Day in 1961. They went on to have four children, Phyllis Ann, Gabriel Mark, Bobby Michael, and Melinda Ann.
Geary retired in the summer of 2000. Geary caught the bus, never missing a day, rain or shine until the day of her retirement 25 years later from the Bexar Appraisal District climbing the ranks to supervisor of her department and acquired her associate's degree in management from San Antonio College all while supporting her four children on her own. Geary was told she would now be able to travel, garden, and go new places. Her only comment was, “I am retiring to do absolutely nothing but enjoy being at home every day.” Her favorite hobby was Walmart, going out to eat with family, or just being with her sister Phyllis. They were born on the same day one year apart. They always said, “We came into the world together and we’re going out with each other.” So, they decided to be buried next to one another. They will be side by side forever.
Geary was a woman who lived her life as a living example by word and deeds. If she wasn’t helping someone, she wasn’t happy. She was a mother to not only her children but to her brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins, and most of her grandchildren at one point or another for years. Geary would help anyone anytime and in any way she could because it gave her the opportunity to preach strength and faith in everyone. She would say if we had a strong mind and faithful conviction, we would conquer anything life threw at us. Geary lived preparing herself to meet our heavenly Father again living by faith and deed. Even in her final days Geary prayed for her family and anyone she knew needed a blessing by name asking specifically for God to give the person whatever blessing she knew they needed. Sometimes it would take her over an hour, but she believed in the power of prayer.
Geary was preceded by her father Philip and Rachel Aguirri, sisters Nancy and Phyllis, two brothers Michael and Philip Kent, and one great granddaughter Randi Dawn.
She is survived by her four children, one brother, two sister-in-law, 19 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, one great granddaughter, & countless cousins and friends.

In painful but forever loving memory
MOMMA
