Gene Laird, age 52, born March 19th, 1952 in Defuniak Springs, FL to C.J. and Estelle Laird, passed Tuesday, June 29th in Gonzales County, TX leaving behind a multitude of loving family, friends and associates.
He died in an accident on Interstate-10 after having stopped to render aid to a fellow motorist.
He graduated from the University of West Florida in 1976 with a BA in History. He began his career in the grocery industry at the age of 13 in his hometown of Defuniak Springs, FL.
At the time of his passing, he was serving as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Amigo's Canning Company in San Antonio, TX.
He was a kind and loving man who never met a stranger. Everyone he encountered was a friend and he will be sorely missed.
He is survived by his wife Sally; his father C.J.; his daughter Erin Cranford; his sons Nicholas and Courtney; his sisters Rebecca Welch and Cynthia Reddick; his brothers Ronald and Larry; his grandchildren Jack and Izabella Cranford and numerous nieces and nephews.
