George Edward Carter Jr.

Born January 19, 1960, in Springfield, MO, Mr. Carter was the son of George Edward Carter, Sr. and Marie Manzo Carter both of whom preceded him in death.

Ed was a Graduate of Robert E. Lee High School, Class of 1978, where he played football. He was a Journeyman Electrician for more than 30 years most of which was spent working at HEB Grocery and most recently for Beard Integrated Systems, Inc. He loved hunting, golfing, and socializing with his many friends at the Long Branch Saloon.

Ed is survived by his children, who were the light of his life: Justin Jurd Carter; and Jessica Marie Carter; his granddaughter’s Desirae Payton and Harper Kay, his brother: John David Carter and wife, Barbara, his sister: Rochelle Marie Jackson. His nephews: Jerrod and Cody Carter; Gerrick Allen, and niece: Jonna Carter as well numerous great-nephews, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends that he considered family.

Ed’s final act on earth was to become a tissue and cornea donor that will help many others. Per his wishes his body will be cremated.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date and family & friends will be notified.
