He was a proud veteran who honorably served in the Korean and Vietnam War. After military retirement, he was a dedicated employee of the U.S. Postal Service for 25 years.
George loved spending quality time with his grandchildren, their favorite past time was the pleasure of swimming together.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara and his parents.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Heidi Miller and husband, Richard; his cherished grandchildren: Darren, Brianna and Katelyn Miller; his sister, Margaret Ruede; brother, Francis McCarthy; brother-in-law, Paul VanLoon; sister-in-law, Louise VanLoon and many loving family members and friends.
Interment in Arlington National Cemetery.
A memorial service will be announced at a future date.
