He lost the battle to cancer, but won the war through his faith and salvation with Jesus. George was preceded in death by his father and mother, Robert D and Lucie Emma McKeen.
He is survived by his wife Vicki, two sons Scott and Paul, a step-daughter Tiffini Hargett Ronnie and four grandchildren. George was blessed with three brothers, Bill Annette, Gordon Iris and Tommy Nelda. He has many nieces and nephews.
George, known as "Rodney" to his family, touched many lives through his love of music, playing whenever he could, especially with his beloved friends of "Grady's Jam Session". His love for Bluegrass grew week after week. For many years, George shared his faith by playing in various nursing homes around San Antonio and Pleasanton singing old-time gospel songs. He also had a great love of animals, especially his dachshunds.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 28, 2010, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
