

He entered the U.S. Air Force 28 January 1959, completing flight training (including fighters), and was discharged in 1967 after serving in Viet Nam and as a flight instructor. George received the Air Medal three times, and earned the Outstanding Unit Award, National Defense Service Medal and Vietnam Service Medal, among others.
In 1967 he started St. George LTD Foreign Car Parts and Repairs, and ran the enterprise before closing it after 50 years in business,Basketball was his love; he was an avid supporter of the Duke Blue Devils. He was the first season ticket holder of the San Antonio Spurs and helped organize midnight basketball in the city. Over the years he was a mentor, friend and "dad" to approximately 40 disadvantaged young men.
Over and above all of this, George was first and foremost a Christian in heart, word and deed. In November 2019 he achieved his dream of being baptized in the river Jordan, where Jesus was baptized.
