

Col. George ‘Pete’ Peterson, a retired United States Air Force fighter pilot, passed away peacefully in his home in San Antonio on Friday, November 7th, 2025 at age 94 . Born on May 11, 1931, in Palmer, Michigan, he was welcomed into the world by his parents, Albin Oscar and Alma Alice Nurmi Peterson.
Pete is survived by his wife, Sue Peterson and his daughters, Sue Johnston and Ann Wilson. He also leaves behind four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy Lee Peterson, his son, Craig Eric Peterson, his granddaughter Emily Suzanne Wilson and his brothers, Carl and John Peterson.
Pete dedicated 28 years to the United States Air Force. He took pride in his career, noting that he began his service as an enlisted man and retired with the distinguished rank of Colonel.
Two memorial services for Pete are scheduled: one in San Antonio and one in Las Vegas, his home for over 40 years.
