George was born on November 11, 1951, to Floyd and Aristea Pettis, who preceded him in death. He carried forward their legacy with strength, kindness, and unwavering devotion to his family.
He will be most fondly remembered as a devoted father and grandfather who loved, adored, and took immense pride in his children and grandchildren. He consistently put them before all else, finding his greatest joy in their happiness and success. George had a generous heart and was always ready to lend a hand—whether to friends, extended family, his church, or anyone in the community in need.
He was a man of deep integrity and unshakable principles, standing firm in his values even when doing so was difficult or unpopular. A committed Orthodox Christian, George lived his faith with sincerity and conviction, believing wholly in the Resurrection and drawing strength from that faith throughout his life.
George is survived by his beloved children, Nicole Sloan and Brian Pettis; his adored grandchildren, Madison Sloan, Jacob Sloan, Alexander Pettis, Sebastian Pettis, and Amaya Pettis; his siblings, Tony Pettis, David Pettis, and Marie Petrogeorge; as well as many nieces, nephews, and a host of great-nieces and great-nephews who will miss him dearly.
