George Mason Scott, age 84, passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2021 in Thousand Oaks, California. He was born in Charlotte, North Carolina on August 5, 1936 to Katherine Seale and George E. Scott. George was a career San Antonio police officer who rose to the rank of Lieutenant. He loved airplanes and was a private pilot. He enjoyed books, movies, and studying the Bible. He knew Morse Code and was a first-class radio operator. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 50 years, Mary Scott, and sisters Ruth Sumners and Betty Donohue. George is survived by his daughter, Katherine Scott Vara and husband Rene Vara of Thousand Oaks, California; sister Marion Seymour of McKinney, Texas; as well as numerous extended family members and a lifetime of friends and former officers from the SAPD.
