George Charles Shaw

Service Information: Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon Friday October 29, at Castle Hills Christian Church in San Antonio, TX. A celebration of his life will be held immediately afterwards, at 12 noon, with Pastors Ronnie Morgan and Ed Skidmore officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at 1:45 p.m. at Fort Sam Houston Cemetery.

George was born in San Antonio on January 30, 1942, to Maurice and Ida Mae Payton Shaw. He attended Harlandale High School and graduated in 1961. He married his high school sweetheart Sandra Davies in 1965.

After serving four years in the United States Air Force, he then obtained his Master Electrician license and later retired from North East Independent School District after 25 years of service. After his second retirement from San Antonio Christian Schools, George spent much of his time with family, friends and of course FISHING. George enjoyed serving the Lord as an elder in his church and as a nursing home worship leader.

He is preceded in death by his father Maurice Shaw, mother Ida Mae Payton Shaw Parrish, and brother Maurice Shaw Jr.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Sandra Davies Shaw, his daughter Debbie Abbott and husband Michael; his son Tim Shaw and wife Kathryn Hawkins Shaw; son Michael Shaw and wife Katheryn Reed Shaw; seven grandchildren Bradley Abbott, Kendall and Samantha Shaw, Zelda, Raiden, Logan, and Baby Shaw on the way. He is also survived by brothers James Shaw and wife Becky; Tommy Shaw and wife Brenda; and sisters Judy Pelfrey; Liz Pierpont and husband Thomas; as well as many nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
