

Georgia "Jo" Carole Huntington, 83, passed away on January 9, 2024 in San Antonio, Texas. Jo was born in Bremerton, WA, on July 11, 1940 to the late C. Bill and Corinne Lindsey. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Dr. Howard William Huntington and Ronald Larry Bingham, her sister Gloria Jackson, and her granddaughter Georgina Luzilla (Jo-L) Cantu. Jo leaves behind a loving family. She is survived by her sister, Diane Rosenzweig, in California; her daughters, Deborah Cantu (husband, Leo), in San Antonio, Texas, Laura Munster (husband, Greg), in Raleigh, North Carolina, and Sheila Suckart (husband, Jim), in Honolulu, Hawaii. Grammie Jo will be missed dearly by her grandchildren, Nash, Lorenzo, Jacob (wife, Elizabeth), Lindsey, Vaughn, Bryn Reigel (husband, Spencer), and great granddaughter Skylynn Reigel.
Jo was also step-mother to Kelly van den Berghe (husband, Lex), Robert Bingham (wife, Becky) and Sara Winger (husband, Daniel). Grandchildren are Corbin, River, Owen, Ian, Charlotte and Nathan. Jo spent her childhood in Chehalis, WA and attended Helen Bush School in Seattle. She graduated from Marylhurst College with a BA in Home Economics/Clothing and Textiles. Jo was a creative individual with a passion for sewing. She was an expert seamstress who owned a fabric store called Fabrics, Etc. in San Antonio. Jo's talent and love for sewing were further showcased through her radio show, "Super Seamstress," which aired on WOAI San Antonio for 8 years. Her dedication to her craft inspired many in the community. Beyond her career, Jo had a zest for life and pursued diverse hobbies. She was a dance enthusiast and enjoyed showcasing her moves on the dance floor. In later years, Jo befriended international Line Dance instructors and Composers. Her step sheet editing skills were beyond compare. Jo also had a deep love for animals and was known for her dog training skills. Her warm heart and compassion extended to all creatures great and small.
A private family viewing is planned. A Requiem Mass will be held at All Saints Anglican Church at 11122 Link, San Antonio, Texas 78213 on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place immediately afterwards at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to St. Benedict Anglican Church at 8219 Vallecito Ct., San Antonio, TX 78250.
Jo Huntington will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Her legacy as a wife, mother, grandmother, talented seamstress, animal lover, and dance enthusiast will continue to inspire and bring joy to those whose lives she touched. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
