I was very close to Gerald when I was a teenager. He dated my mom Donna for years and took all of us in like his own from the start. Gerald was one of the good ones, I have fond memories of his friendly smile and his peaceful charm.

Thank you for your heart and soul Gerald, you meant more to me than you might have known.

Dear family members
Just learned of the loss of my dear buddy and friend of 50 years. Gerald and I worked together at CPS, private sector pipeline, and SAWS. I will miss our times together professionally and socially (having tacos and tea). Things won't be the same without you buddy. You have always been a class act!
May God be with each of you.

The first time I met Gerald was back in the late 70's at the old City Public Service company. He always had a warm smile and a big hug for his friends. I'm so glad I could call him a friend. So sad you are gone but I know you are in a better place. My condolences to your lovely family.

It was such a honor to know Gerald, as he was such a happy person and always in a great mood. Working in the right-of-way field @ CPS Energy, I was fortunate to work with Gerald, and there was never a dull moment when we worked together. Gerald, you will be missed by everyone that you worked with throughout the years.

God bless,

I was blessed to have Gerald as a friend for 25 years including 8 as a co-worker at SARA. He was always concerned and caring of others and new how to relax and enjoy the simple pleasures of life. Lunchtime with Gerald was a special event. His excellent humor and wit along with knowledge of the engineering and real estate world were always a time of enjoyment no matter how the rest of the day went. This is just one example of Gerald's positive and genuine care for others that made him such a great friend. He will be missed by all those who knew him.
My deepest sympathies to Gerald's extended family and many friends.

Dear Mrs. Corienne D. Borchers and family, I offer my sincerest condolences on the untimely passing of your loved one, Gerald. My sister and I had the opportunity to visit with Gerald at one of his breakfast restaurants, El Rafas on Hildebrand. He was warm and embracing and a fine example to me of what is right with the world. To us he was kind and the type of person I would like to say, probably never met a stranger. We only knew him a very short time but over the past couple of years came to like him and look forward to seeing him in the week day mornings. We will miss him very much.
