It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gerald "Jerry" Thomas Inloes on April 1, 2023, at the age of 72. Born in Hamilton, Ohio on October 20, 1950, Jerry was the youngest child of Louis Howard Inloes and Freda Blanche Parvis.
Jerry grew up in the midst of Beatlemania, and his love for music led him to teach himself how to play the guitar. He was often found strumming his guitar and playing for his loved ones. Jerry was also a talented basketball player and played for his high school team at Talawanda High School.
After graduating from high school in 1969, during the Vietnam era, Jerry enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he trained at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. It was during his time in the Air Force that he met the love of his life, Sylvia Angelica Sanchez. They were introduced by a mutual friend and went on a blind date that changed their lives forever. Jerry and Sylvia were married in 1973 and would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this August.
Together, Jerry and Sylvia raised three children: Nichole (Arthur), Gerald "Jerry" Jr. (Nicole), and Steven (Lilibeth). They were blessed with five grandchildren: Aaron, Amelia, Viktor, Nolan, Davian, and a baby girl on the way named Vivien.
Jerry will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather with a quick wit and a sharp sense of humor. He had a talent for making people laugh. Jerry's passing is a tremendous loss to his family and friends, who will miss his quiet reflective moments as much as his laughter.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and his three older siblings: Martha Reece, Edward Inloes, and Robert "Bobby" Inloes. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, and many other family members and friends.
A celebration of Jerry's life will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.
