Gerald graduated from Sinton High in 1984 and from the University of Texas in Austin, where he received a degree in Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy in 1990.
He worked for the City of San Antonio as a computer program analyst.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Elizabeth Armadillo; and sister, Tina Gail O'Brien.
Gerald is survived by his wife, Nicole Pettit; three daughters, Jadelyn, Elocin, and Aja Pettit; mother, Martina A. O'Brien; stepfather, Buddy O'Brien; brother, James B. Pettit; mother in law, Mary Carrasco; father in law, Jody Ramirez, and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles. The family would like to thank all the nurses from Odyssey Hospice, Dr. Andrew Brenner, and the staff at Cancer Therapy Research Center.
