Born on September 30, 1944, Gilbert lived a life full of love.
Gilbert served as a US army sergeant, veteran of the Korean conflict. He worked as a dedicated nurse in both the hospital and home health care settings for 40+ years. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, archery, and hunting. His love for nature extended into his garden, where he found peace and joy tending to his plants. He spent many hours reading about Native American culture and history. He also had a deep affection for animals and took great pride in caring for his beloved pets.
Above all, Gilbert loved his family and cherished every moment he spent with them. His greatest joy came from being surrounded by those he loved most, creating memories that will live on in their hearts forever.
Gilbert was preceded in death by his daughter, Angelita Soto; his parents, Juan and Leandra Soto; his stepfather, Emeterio; his brother, Cruz Soto; and his sisters, Margaret, Micaela, Eloisa, and Juana.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Adelina P. Soto; his children, Gilbert Soto Jr. and Jeannette Montoya (John); and his cherished grandchildren, Audrey Vallejo (Mauricio), Laurel Mae Soto, Bill Soto, Silas Soto, and Angelina Montoya. He also leaves behind one great-grandchild on the way. Gilbert is also survived by his siblings, Rosa and Juan Jr.; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.
Gilbert’s strength, wisdom, and love will continue to inspire all who knew him.
