A frequent helper in her church, Gladys also enjoyed volunteering to help youth and senior citizens.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Jack V. Gates; 3 children, Carolyn Lea Gates of Jakarta, Indonesia, John Morgan Gates of San Antonio, and Gary Gates and wife Margaret of San Antonio; 2 grandchildren, Nickoli and Alexandra Gates; a brother, James Alfred Morgan of DeSoto, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
