

Gloria Berumen-Saldana, 70, of Carrizo Springs, Texas, entered into the loving arms of our Lord on June 2, 2026, in San Antonio. Gloria lived a life shaped by faith, resilience, and a deep devotion to the people she loved. Her gentle spirit and steady strength were gifts she shared generously with her family and all who knew her.
Born on May 22, 1956, in Eagle Pass to Jose Berumen and Juana Salas, Gloria grew up surrounded by the values that would guide her entire life, faith, family, and service. She graduated from Highlands High School in San Antonio before proudly serving in the United States Air Force, where she carried herself with honor and dedication.
Gloria built a meaningful career as an Executive Assistant with the Department of Treasury, retiring in 2008. Her professionalism, loyalty, and quiet grace left a lasting impression on colleagues and friends alike.
On March 12, 2016, she married Rodolfo Saldana in Carrizo Springs, where they shared a life rooted in companionship, community, and faith. Gloria is preceded in death by Rodolfo and her beloved mother, Juana Salas.
She leaves behind a family who adored her and carry her love forward every day. Gloria is survived by her sisters, nieces, nephews, first spouse, Balvin Garcia, Jr., and their children: Balvin John Garcia (Alexandra), Venita Garcia, Gaiton Berumen Garcia (Katheron).
Her grandchildren, Alexcia, Mia, Madelyn, Charlotte, and Isabella, and her great-grandchildren Jaxson, Oliver, and Sophia were the light of her life. She cherished every moment with them, celebrating their milestones, encouraging their dreams, and loving them with her whole heart.
Pallbearers honoring Gloria’s memory will be Balvin John Garcia, Gaiton Garcia, Adam Hernandez, Daniel Rosas, Edward Garcia, and Rene Villegas.
Family and friends are invited to visitation on June 8, 2026, from 6:00–8:00 pm, with a rosary at 7:00 pm, at Sunset Memorial Park & Funeral Home.
A Catholic Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on June 9, 2026, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Arrangements are entrusted to Sunset Memorial Park & Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Lymphoma Research Foundation or the MFPA, honoring causes close to Gloria’s heart.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Scott Ulmer, Dr. Anna Sikora, Dr. Charles Burch, Texas IPS, Methodist Hospital, and the compassionate ICU nurses: Livina, Jeffrey,
Daniel, Grace, Omar, and Caity for their exceptional care, support, and kindness during Gloria’s final days.
