'In memory of my dear, sweet mama. 
You were not only my mama, you were my best friend. We could talk about anything. We shared our inner most thoughts and we were always there for each other. Oh, how much fun we had together. They say 'laughter is the best medicine' and we sure did a lot of laughing. I have so many cherished memories that will last forever. 
When we found out you had such a horrible and aggressive cancer, I thought my heart was going to break in two. Your faith and will to live inspired everyone and kept me going. You went through some horrible surgeries, treatments and suffering just to live a little longer to be with us. I am thankful for each day I had with you. 
When something happened that was good, you always put your thumbs up and I know that they are up now. It will never be the same here without you, but you are with our precious Lord and our loved ones that went before you. You have a new body and are no longer in pain or suffering. I love and miss you so much, but I know I will see you again.

'We knew her as "Bama". That was my fault for not being able to pronounce Grandma as a child, but she liked it better than grandma because "grandma sounded old". There are many wonderful memories that I will hold on to for the rest of my life. She endured so much in her lifetime including the death of a child as an infant and most recently her struggle with cancer. She lived years longer than expected due to her strong will to live and her unfailing spirit despite the loss of the ability to eat or even talk. In the end, you could see her smile with her eyes....I have never seen so much expression through a person's eyes. Most of all...I will never forget her enduring faith in Jesus. Through all her suffering she never lost her faith, it only grew stronger. I am so thankful for that legacy and only hope my faith and love for God will be as strong. Thank You, Jesus, for the knowledge that she is no longer suffering and is now in Your loving arms feeling only joy. I love and miss you, Bama, but I will see you again soon!'

'It has been an honor and a privilege to care for Ms. Burleson. Despite not feeling well, she was always able to maintain a sense of perseverance and humor. She could fill the room with a smile just with the twinkle of her eyes. She will be missed but certainly not forgotten.'

'It was my pleasure and honor to care for Mrs. Burleson over the past 4 years. She was a wonderful lady with a terrific spirit and zest for life. Every time I saw her and her devoted daughter, Denniece, it brightened my day. Mrs. Burleson was extremely blessed to have such a caring family who always supported her. Denniece was a true blessing for Mrs. Burleson. Mrs. Burleson will be greatly missed by me and my staff.'
