Gloria "Glo" Green

Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert “Bert” Green, parents Maurine and Emory Johnson, and son-in-law Kenneth Kittinger. She is survived by her daughters, Cindy Rich and Tammie Kittinger, her son-in-law Mike Rich, her granddaughters Lindsey Rish, Lauren Soules, Kelsey Cruz, and Haley Matlock, and her great-grandson, Castle Cruz.

Gloria was born in Comanche, Texas on April 27, 1936 and resided in Austin, Texas during her childhood days. During her junior year of high school, she found a loving relationship with Bert and on September 4, 1954 she married her sweetheart and they moved to Corpus Christi, Texas. They lived with their daughters in Corpus Christi until they relocated to San Antonio with Bert’s job at Valero. Gloria enjoyed traveling with her family and friends, doing volunteer work, and spending time with the Valero retirees. She loved to cook and decorate for the holidays with the family. She also loved her San Antonio SPURS. Her bright smile and even brighter presence will be missed dearly.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Abiding Presence Lutheran Church, 14700 San Pedro Avenue, San Antonio, Texas 78232.

We ask in lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Gloria’s honor to Abiding Presence Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice.
