Gloria Hein Guadiana, a beloved mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 79. Born on July 27, 1945, in Laredo, Texas, Gloria lived a life full of warmth, strength, and quiet grace.
A proud graduate of St. Augustine High School in Laredo (Class of 1963), Gloria dedicated over 30 years of service to AT&T, working in both Laredo and San Antonio. She was known for her reliability, dedication, and the gentle kindness she extended to her colleagues and friends.
Gloria had a curious spirit and a love for adventure. She delighted in traveling, exploring both Europe and the United States, making memories that she cherished dearly. At home, she was happiest surrounded by her loved ones—her family, her friends, and the stories she adored. A passionate reader and lover of mystery shows and films, she had a knack for uncovering clues and solving puzzles, often before the final scene.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, and several beloved aunts, uncles, and other family members. She leaves behind a legacy of love and strength in her two devoted sons, Robert Garcia and Gadier Garcia (Margaret Estefan); her brother and sister; and a wide circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends who were touched by her presence.
Gloria will be remembered most for her kind soul, her gentle wisdom, and her beautiful heart. Her love was quiet but powerful, and it wrapped around everyone who had the joy of knowing her. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
A private visitation and rosary will be held for the family at Porter Loring Mortuary on Monday, July 7, 2025, beginning at 6:00 p.m. A private interment will take place at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.
