She was born in Chiangmai, Thailand in 1959. At the age of seven, Dorsey and Ola Traw, missionaries still serving in Thailand since the early 1960s, adopted Gloyjai.
Gloyjai met and married Scott Maxwell while attending college in Tennessee in 1979. In 1995, Gloyjai began teaching the fourth grade at Thousand Oaks Elementary School in the North East Independent School District.
She truly loved her kids, touching children's lives for many years to come. Her passion for excellence endeared her to both parents and colleagues alike. Gloyjai will, without a doubt, be sorely missed.
Although her life was cut short, she lived a full and abundant life which glorified both God and man. She is now at home with the Father. Her real and eternal life has just begun.
She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Maj. Scott D. Maxwell USAF, Ret.; her parents, Dorsey and Ola Traw of Chiangmai, Thailand; a brother, Cameron Traw, of North Carolina; 2 sisters, Tassane Demick of North Carolina, and Kris Cipriani of Houston; her mother-in-law, Carolyn Maxwell of San Antonio; and numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends from Thousand Oaks Elementary School and Northside Church of Christ.
Memorial contributions may be made in Gloyjai's name to The Children's Ministry, Northside Church of Christ, 16318 San Pedro, San Antonio, TX 78232.
