

Grace Gonzales, a beacon of love and joy, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2024, at the age of 89 in San Antonio TX. Grace’s life was a tapestry of dedication, humor and kindness, woven through the many roles she embraced with enthusiasm and grace.
Grace was the cherished sister of Rosemary Gonzales and was lovingly surrounded by numerous nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Beatrice Gonzales, her sister Gloria Gonzales and her brothers Arthur Gonzales, Frank Gonzales and John Gonzales. Grace’s heart held a special place for her partner of over 40 years, Roy Emard, who preceded her in death.
A proud graduate of Tech High School, Grace’s commitment to education was only surpassed by her dedication to her career. She retired after 37 years of exemplary service as an Administrative Officer, Extended Care Therapy Center.
Grace’s interests were as varied as they were rich. She found solace in the tranquility of her garden, where she cultivated not just plants but also friendships and memories. Her hands were rarely still, as she was often found sewing, a skill she used to bring comfort and beauty into the world. Grace’s culinary talents were legendary, and her kitchen was the heart of many family gatherings. An avid traveler, she explored the world with her partner Roy, collecting experiences and friendships at every destination. Even at home, she always engaged in household projects or enjoying a round of golf with Roy.
Those who knew Grace will remember her as the embodiment of love, kindness and humor. Her laughter was infectious, her smile a source of comfort, and her presence a gift to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Grace’s legacy is one of unwavering love and the countless moments of joy she shared with everyone around her.
As we bid farewell to Grace Gonzales, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a woman deeply loved. Her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us, just as the stars continue to shine even after they have faded from view. Grace’s memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of her family, friends and all who were touched by her extraordinary life.
