Horne Isaac was born on May 10th, 1962 at Laredo Air Force Base in Laredo,
Texas. She was one of eight children. While living as a young child in Laredo,
GiGi attended Mary Help of Christians Catholic School. When her parents moved
to San Antonio, she attended St. Monica’s Catholic School in Converse, TX and
Roosevelt High School.
As a young adult, GiGi was always very industrious. She had her first job as a
catering server at the age of 14, then quickly worked her way into catering
manager at the age of 16. She worked long and hard because she wanted to buy
her first car in cash. At the age of 18, she was managing two very popular
restaurants in San Antonio.
One day, while she was purchasing make-up at Foley’s, she was offered a job on
the spot to work at one of the cosmetic counters because she had such beautiful
skin and a radiant smile. She worked both jobs for as long as she could because
she loved the restaurant business but she was also enjoying the new
opportunities Foley’s had offered. GiGi had worked at Foley’s Cosmetics for over
30 years, managing several brands and consistently exceeding sales goals for
each brand, but what truly made her happy in makeup was making others feel
beautiful.
GiGi met and married the love of her life, Jesse Isaac, at the age of 20. Together
they had three children; Celene, Anastacia (Stacie), Graciela (Little GiGi).
Beyond her faith; GiGi enjoyed crafting, beauty, gardening and listening to music;
christian music, romantic music and oldies with her husband and whatever music
was in with her grandchildren. She also loved day trips, going to the beach and
spending time with her family and friends. When she had children; she became
her husband’s right hand of their family business. This allowed her to be present
and active during the upbringing of their children which transitioned to their
grandchildren.
GiGi’s greatest passion was being with her grandchildren; teaching them to love
God, love others and making memories with each of them.
GiGi began her battle with Multiple Myeloma in March of 2020, on the onset of
COVID. She was alone in the hospital when her life drastically changed and she
was informed that she had cancer. Being diagnosed alone in a hospital; she
developed severe Post Traumatic Stress. Since that day, she lost all trust in
doctors and relied solely on her faith to get her through each day. Through her
faith, we were able to see several miracles when it came to her life being affected
by Multiple Myeloma with minimal to no treatment.
In October of 2021, GiGi spent 21 days in the hospital with Covid pneumonia
fighting for her life. On several occasions, Doctors informed the family that she
would not make it because her body was too weak because of the cancer.
However, because of her unwavering faith; God delivered her so she could
spend more time with us.
GiGi was the essence of “walk by faith, not by sight.” On Friday, April 8, 2022 at
9:32pm, she took her final breath on earth and her first breath in heaven. She
was surrounded by her loving and devoted husband of 39 years, all three of her
daughters and grandchildren, siblings, family and her best friend from 5th grade; Dawn.
GiGi was a loving, devoted, extremely involved, compassionate, immersed and
faithful wife, mother, grandma, daughter, sister, cousin and friend. To know her,
was to know a sweet smile every time she saw you and the warmest hug. She
always made time for you; if you ever needed her, she always stopped what she
was doing, and was there for you with a smile and a hug. She always made you
feel special, comfortable, loved and accepted.
She is preceded in death by her father; Billy Roy Horne, her “Guela and Guelo;”
Maria Katalina Galan and Fernando Galan, and her aunt and uncle; Graciela
Gloria Villafranca “Tia Chacha” and Fernando Galan “Tio Chacho.”
She is survived by her husband; Jesse Isaac, her three daughters; Celene, Stacie
(husband Cesar) and Little GiGi Isaac (Shane); three Stepdaughters; Cindy
Rodriguez (husband Roger), Andrea and Laura Isaac, her grandchildren; Adan, Alina,
Jessie Nicole, Serenity Grace, Syriana Grace, Eric Isaac, Giulianna Grace,
Kristine Luz, Jennifer Monroe, Roger, Sydney, Austin, Josh, Chance, Justin, Sara
and Nathan; her mother; Maria Galan, her siblings MaryLou “LouLou” Kubena
(husband Dave), Johnny Horne (wife Sherry); Robert Anthony “RA” Horne (wife
Sharon), Ann Marie “Annie” (husband Ian), Maureen “Wienie” Attridge, Karen
Attridge and Michael Attridge; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Though we are deeply saddened and miss her dearly; her legacy will live on
through her unwavering faith, words of wisdom and compassionate heart.
Rest well honey, mom, grandma, Gig, Grace…save a place for us, we will see
you again one day.
In the words of GiGi, “Keep a smile on your face and a song in your heart.”
